Brief itinerary of Tbilisi Tour




Day 1: Arrival in Tbilisi, Georgia

  • Arrival to Tbilisi, meet and greet at the airport
  • Transfer to hotel, check in the hotel




Day 2: Tbilisi City Tour

  • Breakfast in the hotel
  • 10:00 starting the tour (time can be discussed with the guide)
  • Starting the tour from the Holy Trinity Cathedral commonly known as Sameba Cathedral. Built in 2004, Sameba is the highest church in Georgia, it is 101m tall.
  • Then we move forward to the old city, starting with the most famous areas called Abanotubani (area of the baths). Here we will visit the below landmarks:
  • Abanotubani – the ancient district of Tbilisi, known for its sulfuric baths.
  • Leghvtakhevi waterfall which is 22 meters tall. The name Leghvtakhevi comes from the Georgian word “Leghvi” which means fig.
  • Narikala Fortress – you can notice this place from many sides of Tbilisi. Overlooking the Mtkvari River, Narikala offers stunning views of the city. You can enjoy a cable car ride to or from the area of Narikala.
  • Kartlis Deda (the mother of Georgia) – proudly overlooking the city, 20m aluminum woman is the symbol of the city
  • Then we continue to explore the city on the other side of the river:
  • Metekhi – the historical neighborhood of Tbilisi, located on the elevated cliff that overlooks the Mtkvari River.
  • Rike Park – one of the newest parks located in the heart of Tbilisi. It leads us to the famous – Bridge of Peace – a bow-shaped pedestrian bridge, a steel and glass construction illuminated with numerous LEDs, over the Kura River in downtown Tbilisi.
  • Once we take lots of pictures and enjoy the old town area, we drive to Mtatsminda Park.
  • Mtatsminda Park is an amusement facility located atop Mount Mtatsminda at 770 meters in height overlooking the Georgian capital Tbilisi. It is the highest point in Tbilisi. Located on more than 100 hectares. Park has more than 100 years of history. Mtatsminda Park is the most popular theme park in Tbilisi.
  • Lunch during this tour can be planned upon the wishes and preferences of the guests
  • Once the program is finished, the guide will leave you in the city or drop back to the hotel
  • The tour will be finished around 17:00

Day 3: Tbilisi – Ananuri – Gudauri –Tbilisi

  • Breakfast in the hotel
  • 10:00 starting the tour (time can be discussed with the guide)
  • Today we will have an exciting trip along The Georgian Military Road to enjoy the spectacular panoramic views of Georgian landscapes. During this journey, you will visit:
  • Zhinvali Reservoir – picturesque water reservoir
  • Ananuri Fortress – a medieval defensive fortress, built by the Dukes of Aragvi, and its earliest parts date from the 13th century. The fortress is on the UNESCO Tentative list.
  • Arch of Friendship near Gudauri – the monument is a circular balcony hanging off of a 600-meter cliff with amazing views of the Caucasus Mountains. Not everyone is brave enough to step on the very edge of the balcony, but the memories are sure worth it!
  • Lunch/dinner during this tour can be planned upon the wish and preference of the guests

Day 4: Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Uplistsikhe – Tbilisi

  • Breakfast in the hotel

  • Trip to Mtskheta – the first capital of Georgia
  • Visiting UNESCO Heritage places Jvari Monastery – the place which allows you to enjoy the view of the merger of two different rivers: Mtkvari and Aragvi
  • Svetitskhoveli Church is an Eastern Orthodox cathedral, A masterpiece of the Early Middle Ages, Svetitskhoveli is recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. It is currently the second-largest church building in Georgia
  • Uplistsikhe is an ancient rock-hewn town. Built on a high rocky left bank of the Mtkvari River, it contains various structures dating from the Early Iron Age to the Late Middle Ages.
  • Evening return to Tbilisi
  • Overnight in Tbilisi

 




Day 5: Tbilisi – Kakheti region – Tbilisi 

  • Breakfast in the hotel

  • Day trip to the eastern part of Georgia – Kakheti region, where you can enjoy the mountain scenery, picturesque villages, and ancient temples, taste unique Georgian wines, and get acquainted with the secrets of wine-making.
  • Visit the wine factory (entrance fee around 5 USD per person paid separately)
  • The Monastery of St. Nino at Bodbe is a Georgian Orthodox monastic complex originally built in the 9th century, it has been significantly remodeled, especially in the 17th century. The monastery now functions as a nunnery and is one of the major pilgrimage sites in Georgia, due to its association with St. Nino, the 4th-century female evangelist of Georgians, whose relics are shrined there.
  • Sighnaghi is endowed with significant historic and cultural heritage sites. Its charming cobblestone streets and alleys restored original nouveau woodwork, and detailed facades give the town a romantic mystique. The town sits atop a bluff overlooking the Alazani Valley, which is one of Georgia’s most famous wine-producing regions. The stunning view of the Alazani Valley makes Sighnaghi one of Georgia’s most attractive small towns.
  • Here you can enjoy lunch at a local restaurant overlooking Alazani Valley
  • Return to Tbilisi from the trip around evening time

Day 6: Tbilisi – Bakuriani – Tbilisi

  • Moving to Bakuriani – a favorite resort in summer for kids and adults, the beauty of the Borjomi Gauge, is located at around 1700 meters above sea level. Bakuriani is known for days with long sunshine, for 2052 hours a year, and a long snowy winter from December to March. Winters are cold and experience sufficient snowfall while summers are long.

Day 7: Tbilisi – Dashbashi Canyon – Tbilisi

  • Today we will visit new natural sightseeing 90 km away from Tbilisi
  • Here you can enjoy the panoramic view over Dashbashi Canyon and have a walk on a glass bridge
